New Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory Web Site Now Operational
New, interactive site means easier navigation, improved access to test results

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (Oct. 5, 2006) – Consumers and veterinarians can now access a new, easier to navigate Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory Web site at: www.ohioagriculture.gov/addl.

The site serves as an information resource for consumers and a resource for comprehensive test results for veterinarians. Consumers can learn about Ohio’s testing and surveillance programs, while veterinarians have secure access to test results with a user identification and password.

The laboratory, housed at the Ohio Department of Agriculture in Reynoldsburg, is a full-service, all species animal disease diagnostic facility which provides diagnostic expertise to veterinarians for food animals, horses, small animals, and exotic species. It also provides increasing support to Ohio’s on-farm food safety programs, and is the only veterinary diagnostic lab in Ohio that is nationally accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians.

The lab, an integral part of the state’s human and animal health protection system, offers 310 different diagnostic tests and completes 600,000 analyses per year. Services offered include avian serology, bacteriology, molecular diagnostics, pathology, serology, toxicology, and virology.
